Handling Postage

  • Postage is calculated by weight and added to the goods total
  • Each item in your shop will have an associated weight, as defined by you
  • When your customer proceeds to the checkout, the total weight of the order is known
  • Postage options are displayed and the customer can select the service required
  • Services that are not compatible with the weight of the order (e.g. too heavy for 2nd class) or delivery location (e.g. overseas airmail) cannot be selected

    Postage options
    Various postage options, as determined by the shop owner, are available for the customer to choose. The option chosen is highlighted. Postage options incompatable with the order cannot be selected.

    Adding postage to the order total
    The cost of the selected postage service is added to the goods total. If any discount is offered to the customer, postage is added after the goods value has been discounted.
